How to get the new RENDER DRAGON SUPPORTED shaders on Xbox, Android, & PC! Today is a big day! Deferred shaders are now officially supported on Minecraft Bedrock for Xbox, Android and PC! This comes with the new Preview version released yesterday!
Intro
all right what's going on everyone so
there's a lot of talk about these
shaders that now work on the Bedrock
preview version and today everyone I'm
going to be showing you how to install
them on each of the consoles that are
available on so Xbox Android and PC I'll
be showing the steps for each of these
devices this is a pretty new process so
if you have any issues I might not be
able to help but I might be able to help
I can try to help in the comments down
below or at my Discord I put timestamps
in the description of the video so
whatever device you're on feel free to
skip to that time stamp and I'll show
the steps a quick Shameless plug I
started a website showing how to get
free add-ons on Xbox and I have many
more videos to come on that website feel
free to check it out but without any
further Ado let's get into how to get
these working shaders on preview for
Xbox to start alright so step number one
Xbox
go into Microsoft Edge on your Xbox and
once you're in Microsoft Edge you want
to type in this URL this is the Shader
pack that I'm going to be using in this
video today there are many Shader packs
that will work I'll probably make like a
top five that work now but this is the
one that I'm going to be showcasing
today so feel free to enter in this
MediaFire link exactly as it is into the
top search bar in Microsoft Edge but
once you type in that URL it will take
you to this page right here and once
you're at this page what you want to do
is hover over the URL that you just
entered press the button with the three
lines on it on your controller and then
go to where it says copy and we want to
copy the entire URL that we just entered
and then once you have that done you can
close out of Microsoft Edge actually and
now that we have that entirely copied we
have to go into another app and this app
is called my files Explorer a lot of you
are probably familiar with this app but
if you're not go ahead to the Microsoft
Store and install my files Explorer this
is what it's called this is what it
looks like the purple app right there
okay so once we launch up my files
Explorer you're going to get this prompt
that shows up the first time you load
into it and it says you need to install
the Standalone expansion game and that's
perfect press on where it says install
from store and you want to go to where
it says install from store and once you
press on that it'll actually take you to
the Microsoft store and now there's
another app you have to download called
expansion for explorers and you want to
get expansion for explorers downloading
onto your Xbox and once you have that
done you'll get another Explorer app
that'll look exactly like this the
purple expansion for explorers and now
you want to launch expansion for
explorers once inside of expansion you
want to go to the top left where it says
download from URL and you want to press
on that once you're inside of that go up
to the top search bar and press a after
you press a press the button with the
three lines on it and then go to where
it says paste and once you press on
paste it'll go away then you want to go
back up to the search bar on the top and
press a on it one more time to update it
you'll now see your MediaFire link which
is perfect and after you do that you can
go all the way to the right side to the
next Arrow and press on the next Arrow
to advance it'll take you to that
MediaFire page and now we can actually
press the blue download button for this
deferred resource pack so press on that
blue download button and that will
automatically get it installing onto
your device and it will automatically
take you to this screen where you'll now
see your resource pack now what you want
to do is hover over the new resource
pack and press the button with the three
lines on it on your controller once you
press on these options you can go down
to where it says copy file and you're
going to want to press on copy file then
you want to go to the left side where it
says package is right here and you want
to press on your packages folder after
you press on packages you're going to
see a whole bunch of different files
different folders the one one we're
looking for is the Microsoft Minecraft
File right here for me it's at the
bottom it will be in here if it's not in
here for you I have a video linked Down
Below on how to fix it feel free to
check out that video you can add it in
yourself but find microsoft.minecraft
and press on it then find local state
and press on it then go to games then go
to com.mojang and then finally go to
where it says resource underscore packs
and press on the resource underscore
packs folder and once you're inside of
the resource underscore packs folder
find any open white space hover over it
press the button with the three lines on
it and then go down to where it says
paste and after you press on paste
that'll then paste in your texture pack
so your texture pack is now in the
resource packs folder and now that we
have our add-on in the resource packs
folder we do have to do a reinstall
method that will basically load in the
add-ons so here's how we do that and we
have to do this reinstall method in
order to load add-ons onto our Minecraft
because with this reinstall method we're
basically going to completely uninstall
Minecraft off of our console and then we
go to the Microsoft shop and we download
an older version of Minecraft that
allowed add-ons and then we're going to
update that version of Minecraft to the
newer version and then then we will have
our add-ons and kind of a little
disclaimer there is a chance that doing
this method could actually set your
world's back in progress or corrupt some
of your worlds there is a chance that's
never happened for me it does happen to
some people and honestly I think for the
large majority of people it works fine
but I will give you that disclaimer and
I unfortunately don't know if that'll
happen to you or not I don't know any
signs to look out for if your worlds
will get corrupted but I need to let you
know there is a risk to doing this but
if you don't really care this will
basically work for you to get add-ons
this is how you do the reinstall method
okay so where I'm at right now I have
all my Minecraft's completely
uninstalled off of your Xbox I have no
Minecraft right now and we're gonna go
to the Microsoft shop we're going to go
to the search bar and we're going to
type in SpongeBob and you're going to
see this Minecraft SpongeBob add-on for
eight dollars don't worry we're not
gonna buy anything but go to this
Minecraft SpongeBob add-on and once
you're at this page scroll down to where
it says works with right here and you'll
see this Minecraft and that is the
proper Minecraft that we want to install
now and it should say install right here
and you just want to get that installing
if it says not sold separately or not
currently available go ahead and
download the game pass version of
Minecraft the normal Minecraft and open
up that Minecraft and have it running in
your background and then come back to
the special Minecraft and it should let
you get it installing but we're going to
press installing on this Minecraft and
that'll send it to our queue it'll be a
little like under a gigabyte there let
it install and once this special
Minecraft is done installing it'll go to
your recently installed right here and
you just want to Simply press on it yet
again and this time it'll save Minecraft
needs an update that's zero kilobytes
right here and you want to go to where
it says update and press on that and
honestly for me on Old gen this update
takes like 35 minutes it takes a long
time if you're on newer gen it'll
probably go faster but right here so I
just leave my console for about 30
minutes I come back and eventually the
special Minecraft will be installed and
once you're inside of the special
Minecraft what you want to do you can
either create a world or go to one of
your already existing worlds but I just
go ahead and create a new world and once
you're in this new world you want to
make sure that you go down to the
resource packs and you will now see that
Shader in here and you want to activate
that Shader pack pretty much so go to
the Shader and I press on activate but
all you have to do is activate that
Shader pack and then create the world or
if it's an already existing world just
go ahead and launch it just launch the
world pretty much and get it generated
so here's our generated world you won't
have the shaders yet because we have to
import them now into Minecraft preview
so I have that world saved you can just
close out of the world and now you want
to go into Minecraft preview on your
Xbox okay so here we are on the latest
version of preview and what you want to
do is go to the worlds go to the bottom
where it says don't see a world copy
worlds from Minecraft release you want
to press on that very bottom option
it'll load but after you press on that
it'll load for a little bit give it some
time and these are all of your worlds
from the real Minecraft and you want to
activate or you want to find the world
that you uh activated the Shader on and
then you want to import the world with
the Shader on it it'll say would you
like to play your world now go to where
it says no but it will be imported into
preview which is perfect so I press no
and now you'll see your world from real
Minecraft in the preview version you
want to go to the edit icon right here
and once you have the edit icon you can
actually see the Shader activated in the
resource packs go to the game settings
up here and in the game settings very
important you want to scroll down to
where it says right here towards the
middle render Dragon features for
creators and you have to activate this
experimental toggle right here so go
ahead and turn on that experimental
toggle and also the villager trading uh
rebalance right there so you have to
have those activated for the shaders to
work but the Shader is activated go
ahead and press on play preview and load
the world and once the world loads up
that is all the steps you will now have
shaders in Minecraft on preview but
there is one last step here what you
want to do is go into your settings and
once you're inside of your settings go
down to where it says video on the left
side press on video and then you want to
go all the way down to the bottom of the
right and you have to turn this on to
get the shaders to show you have to turn
on your graphics mode make sure your
graphics mode is set to deferred
technical preview if it's set to like
fancy the shaders won't work but once
you set that to deferred you will now
have shaders on preview enjoy it
everyone it's really cool and this is
just an awesome update but now I'm going
to move on to how to do it on PC hope
this helped okay so for PC in the
Windows 10 (PC)
description down below I have a link to
this resource pack right here this is
the Shader pack that I'm going to be
using so just press the blue download
button on it and get it onto your
desktop pretty much you'll see it in the
top right that's the Shader pack then
you want to go to my PC or this PC and
you want to search local app data
exactly as it is right here we're going
to import the Shader pack into Minecraft
preview so we enter this in Local app
data into file explorer right here on
the windows then we see that you'll get
these options and from these options you
want to go down to where it says
packages and you're going to press on
the packages folder now once you're
inside of the packages folder then
you're going to want to go ahead and
find the microsoft.minecraft beta or the
microsoft.minecraft windows beta right
here make sure it's the windows beta
version and you want to press on that
folder once you are inside of the
windows beta Microsoft Minecraft folder
then you want to go ahead and find the
local state folder once inside of the
local state folder then you want to go
to the games folder and press on games
after the games folder go to the Comm
dot Mojang folder and then finally go
ahead and find the resource underscore
packs folder press on the resource
underscore packs folder and then you can
just simply drag in that Shader pack
into this resource underscore packs
folder and that will then be imported
into Minecraft preview for you then go
to the Minecraft launcher and once that
loads up make sure that you have the
windows Edition selected on the left
side right here so Minecraft for Windows
you want to go to the left right here
where it says latest release and you
want to go go to the latest preview
because we're playing the preview
version so press on latest preview and
then once you do that you can go to
where it says play and you want to
launch up that preview version of
Minecraft so then your screen will look
like this so now you're at the main menu
screen once you're at the main menu
screen go right here you can create a
new world go to an existing World it
doesn't matter I just create a new world
the main things you want to do is go to
your resource packs and you have to
activate that Shader pack that we just
downloaded so I go to Resource packs on
the left go to available you'll see it
at the very top the Shader test and you
want to activate that resource pack by
pressing activate after you do that go
to the experiments tab on the bottom
left very important that you go here
once you're in the experiments you have
to go all the way down to the bottom
render Dragon features for creators that
is the one that you want to have turned
on make sure you have that toggled on
otherwise it won't work I just go ahead
and turn on all the experiments because
why not but once you've done that
resource pack activated you got the
experiments on go ahead and now create
the world and once you create that world
you will then see that you'll actually
have the shaders activated now if the
shaders aren't showing for you there is
one more step that you have to do go
into your video settings in the game
once you're inside of the video settings
you want to scroll all all the way down
on the right side and then you'll see
Graphics mode and you want to make sure
you have your graphics mode set to
deferred technical preview if it's set
to fancy it won't work so make sure you
have that set to deferred and then
you'll see the shaders but hopefully
this helps you out thank you all so much
for watching and enjoy these shaders
Android
very cool okay now for the Android
shaders as you can see my device cannot
handle these shaders but maybe yours can
the first thing you have to do is
actually uninstall Minecraft off of your
phone I'm not sure how this works with
worlds and stuff I've actually never
played Minecraft on Android until
recording this video so I think you'll
keep your worlds I'm not entirely sure
it is a risk maybe you're taking here
you should be able to just reinstall
normal Minecraft later I think but I'm
not 100 sure I haven't tried it yet so
you might want to wait I'll leave it
updated in the pin comment if you can
actually get your worlds back after
uninstalling I think you should be able
to but in order to do this method you do
have to uninstall then you want to go
down to where it says join the beta
program right here and you want to press
on where it says join to become a beta
member so you press on join it will take
about five minutes pretty much to get
accepted into this program but once you
do get accepted you'll come back to
Minecraft on the Play store it'll say
Minecraft Beta in parentheses now and
then you want to press install on the
Minecraft Beta and you want to get that
installing onto your device and like
once it's done it'll probably ask for an
update that's perfect just get Minecraft
Beta installing after you have the beta
installed in the description down below
I have a link to this resource pack
right here this is the Shader pack that
I'm going to be showing so go ahead and
press on the blue download button once
you're at this screen to get that Shader
installed and that's all you have to do
it'll automatically go into your
downloads folder so just press that blue
download button is all I'm doing right
here and it'll automatically go onto
your device then I go to the Play Store
get file manager plus this is a free
file browser file manager plus is what
it's called right there once you're
inside a file manager plus go to where
it says downloads right here that's
where we just downloaded the Shader so I
press on downloads you'll see the
Deferred resource pack right here and
you just want to press on it once it's
at the top for me press on that deferred
resource pack after you press on that
you'll see this three items resource
pack folder and you want to actually
hold down on it and once you hold down
on it it'll turn like this turquoise
color then you want to go down to the
bottom right to this three buttons and
you want to go to where it says compress
so we're going to compress this folder
into a zip you press on compress it'll
say its name right here it'll say the
new zip you just want to go ahead
resource pack and press OK you'll now
see the resource pack.zip in your
downloads right here all you want to do
is hold down on that zip file again
until it turns kind of turquoise like
this once it turns turquoise now you
want to go down to the middle of the
screen where it says rename and we're
going to press on that rename button
then you want to go to the end where it
says dot zip and we're going to make it
say dot MC pack instead of dot zip
that's all that matters is what's after
the period dot MC pack is what it should
say exactly like this on your screen so
we're just changing that format then go
ahead and press on OK after you've
renamed it to nn.nc pack now you'll see
this rp.mc pack hold down on it again
until it turns turquoise now which one
is go down to the bottom right to the
three buttons again and this time you
want to go to where it says open with I
press on open with and after you press
on open with of course you want to press
on where it says Minecraft because we
want to open this with Minecraft preview
so press on Minecraft it'll then
automatically launch Minecraft on your
phone it'll say installing at the top
and then it'll say success on the import
I already have mine installed so it'll
say that it didn't work but once you
have that texture pack imported then you
want to go to where it says play beta
create a new world or go to an existing
world the main thing is you just have to
have these settings go all the way down
to the bottom left to the experiments
turn on the experiments and the main
experiment you want is the one all the
way down at the bottom the render Dragon
features for creators you have to have
that experiment turned on but I just
turn them all on because why not so turn
on all the experiments then you want to
go to the resource packs on the left
side and you have to activate that
Shader that we just downloaded you'll
see it under your available the Shader
test press activate on that so we have
all the resource packs activated we got
all the features on go ahead and create
the world and once you load in you will
now have the shaders but there is one
last step you have to do here if you
don't see the shaders go into your
settings in the game go to your video
settings and then go all the way down to
Graphics mode and it has to be set to
deferred technical preview it can't be
set to fancy so make sure it's set to
deferred technical preview and then once
you close back out you will see you have
the shaders activated enjoy them
hopefully your phone can run them
because mine definitely cannot but thank
you all so much for watching it's been
Smitty hope it has helped you out and
until the next one I'll keep you all up
to date peace out
